Erick + Meg: A Citrus-Kissed Summer Wedding at Clarke Estate

A Whittier and Santa Fe Springs Wedding

Some weddings simply sparkle from beginning to end, and Erick + Meg's July wedding was one of those! Set on a warm, sunny day, every part of the celebration shone with a vibrant glow that only Southern California in summer can bring. The day began in Whittier, CA, at the couple's home where the bride, Meg, got ready with her closest friends and family. The bright sun outside failed to compare to the glow of Meg - never have I been greeted by a bride who was more excited for her day. The dancing never stopped, even while we took photos of her with her girls. From the moment I stepped inside, I learned what an incredible human Meg was. Her energy, joy and beauty are unmatched. Once I met her crew, it became clear there's an infectious energy shared through all the women.

The ceremony and reception took place at the Clarke Estate in Santa Fe Springs. An enchanting venue tucked away off a busy street, the Clarke Estate unfolded like a secret garden, concealed and wonderfully secluded with a vintage charm. My jaw dropped upon entering as I reminisced my old college days, driving past the same commercial area, absolutely clueless to the beautiful gem that hid on the opposite side of the street.

Nestled within gorgeous historic architecture, the Clarke Estate created a picturesque backdrop for the couple’s vows. As the bride walked down the aisle with her mother and father, the guests watched in awe, captivated by her radiant joy. There’s something magical about outdoor summer ceremonies: the light, the greenery, and the warm breeze all contribute to a perfect, dreamy atmosphere. And this one was no exception.

The ceremony was a stunning testament to their love for each other and their families. The vows had the guests - and yours truly - laughing until we cried, and crying until we laughed. Both Erick and Meg writers, and it showed with the words they wrote for one another; I felt like I should have paid for a ticket to observe something so beautiful.

Because of Clarke Estate's unique architecture, I was able to get a great group photo from a balcony:

Then, it was time for the "romantics" (every photographer's favorite part!)

As the summer sun began to dip, the reception unfolded into a lively celebration filled with heartfelt speeches, laughter, and dancing under twinkling lights. Guests enjoyed delicious food, shared in toasts, and celebrated the couple’s love story. My favorite touch had to have been the vibrant oranges throughout the decor - a nod to the many orange trees dotting the the Clarke Estate.

The most pleasantly surprising moment of the day was the DANCING! Through the many speeches and conversations with guests, I learned Meg danced all her life

It was a privilege to capture The Tanlindo’s day—the laughs, the happy tears, the dancing (SO. MUCH. DANCING.). To the newlyweds, thank you for allowing me to be part of such a special moment. Here’s to many more summers filled with love!
